Re: [802.3_400GPL] question on CSD for compatibility



Thanks Mark - all good.  Not all projects repeat that managed object text - just wanted to make sure it wasn't a mistake.  Glad it isn't.

George,

You are right that it is repeated text between the Managed Objects responses and one of the Compatibility responses.

However, this isn’t a typo and is consistent with the responses we’ve been using on many of the projects in recent years.  John D’Ambrosia and I did some CSD archaeology on this but I won’t burden the reflector with it, but the duplicative text seemed to come in and been used with a changing CSD template and has been continued by many projects since then.

Is it an error that the 'Managed Objects' text seems to be repeated on slide 6 (compatibility) of the proposed CSD deck?
"The definition of protocol independent managed objects, to be included in Clause 30 of IEEE Std 802.3, will be part of this project."
