All,
I was informed that Arthur Marris retired Thursday (28 Aug). From a personal perspective, I have worked with Arthur for many years on many of my projects and I want to thank him for al of the effort he has put in over the years, and wish him all the best. I am sure many of you share similar thoughts.
With that said, this is a “Call for Volunteers” to see if a suitable candidate can be found for Arthur. Any interested individuals should contact me @ jdambrosia@xxxxxxxxx. The deadline for individuals to contact me to volunteer is Wednesday, 03 Sept, by 5pm ET.
Please note that given the aggressive timeline of the IEEE P802.3dj project, a suitable volunteer will need to be able to dedicate the necessary time to this position when the project requires it. Please note that based on thie project timeline, this role will last through Q3 of 2026 with any future delays impacting the actual end of the project. Also, given the timeline, minimum time will be available to train new candidates.
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
· Familiar with IEEE 802.3 Clauses 4, 4A, 30, 31B, 45, 73, 73A, 90, 90A and the underlying specifications, as well as these clauses in IEEE P802.3dj.
· Familiar with Adobe FrameMaker.
· Familiar with the IEEE Ballot and Comment Resolution Process.
o As an editor, the candidate will be responsible for reviewing submitted comments, developing proposed remedies, and working with commenters and the editorial team to resolve comments to progress the draft.
· Be responsible for implementing any approved remedies into the draft and work with the Chief Editor and the Editorial Team to progress a new draft revision.
Please note from the above list that editing the document is but one aspect of this position, and only a portion of it.
I will work with Matt Brown, the IEEE P802.3dj Chief Editor, to review all individuals who volunteer, and select the appropriate individual.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
John D’Ambrosia
Chair, IEEE P802.3dj Task Force
