I’ve scheduled three SG ad hoc teleconferences. These meetings will start on 14 April 2020 and occur every two weeks. Recalling the people that were in attendance in Geneva, and receiving little feedback on my email about teleconference times, I’ve decided to give our Asian participants a break and not make them stay up so late to participate but instead make our USA Pacific Time participants (including me) get up early. The meetings will be at 05h00 PDT (Los Angeles), 13h00 CET (Madrid) and 21h00 JST (Tokyo).

Below is the information to participate in the 14 April 2020 WebEx teleconference.

Please let me know if you want to present at one of these meetings. Appropriate topics include refinement of our draft Objectives and less likely refinement of the proposed P802.3cz PAR and CSD.

I'm also encourage you to work on building consensus around more comprehensive technical solutions. For example, proposals for combinations of Physical Coding Sublayer, Physical Medium Dependent transmitters and receivers, and cabling components that satisfy a draft objective or multiple draft objectives; or perhaps suggest modification of our draft objectives. Such more complete proposals also reinforce the technical feasibility of our proposed project.

The cancellation of the March plenary meeting certainly messed up timeline for work, and many of us for the first time are reading some of our rules knowing that meeting face-to-face might not happen as planned. I’m working on different approaches with 802.3 leadership and the IEEE 802 LMSC rules ad hoc to assure we can remove the face-to-face meeting roadblocks and be able to progress via electronic process.

Your patience with the current situation is appreciated.

Best wishes for you, your families, and your colleagues health and well being!
