[802.3_SPEP2P] proposed correction to minutes of 5/17

All – I am proposing a correction to the minutes from 5/17 – I believe they are in error.

I am emailing this early to see if anyone objects, and because it may impact people looking at PHY analysis. (I found this in doing the PHY analysis.)

Please respond with any objections by Monday morning pacific time.  I will post a correction at that time.

The minutes show the straw poll on the “sliding scale” for alien crosstalk incorrectly in the 3rd interval (21<= IL_20 <= 23dB), in such a way that N would go back to zero at IL_20=21 dB and up to 3 at IL_20=23 dB, making the range discontinuous.  The motions deck show it correctly.

The minutes show:

With N = 0 for IL_20 < 16 dB

§ 0.5 x (IL_20 – 16) for 16 <= IL_20 <= 21 dB

§ 1 for 18 <= IL_20 <= 21 dB

§ 1.5 x (IL_20 – 21) for 21 <= IL_20 <= 23 dB

§ 2 for 23 <= IL_20 dB

The motions deck shows what seems correct, and gives the desired continuous range of N:

With N =0 for IL_20 < 16 dB

0.5 x (IL_20 –16)               for 16 <= IL_20 < 18dB

1                                             for 18 <= IL_20 < 21dB

1 + 0.5 x (IL_20 –21)        for 21 <= IL_20 < 23dB

2                                             for 23 <= IL_20 (dB)

I propose correcting the minutes as per the motions deck.
