Chris – you are correct, we do not NEED an objective for this, but if we are replacing the “MDI” objective, it might be useful to advertise what we ARE doing as Bob suggests.

Colleagues, 

 

I believe we have already adopted draft specifications for TCI(MDI) without the need of an additional objective. 

 

The TCI is an MDI for the shared transmission medium (single balanced pair of conductors). The cable media is referred to as "trunk” cable.
