Looking at comment 89, the text on state diagram notation, we can simplify. The current proposed resolution is: Currently PROPOSED ACCEPT IN PRINCIPLE.
Delete 189.5.3.1 and 189.4.4.1.
Replace paragraph 189.1.4 with "The body of this clause contains state diagrams including definitions of variables, constants, and functions. The notation
used in the state diagrams follows the conventions of state diagrams as described in 145.2.5.2. Should there be a discrepancy between a state diagram and descriptive text, the state diagram prevails." Replace paragraph 188.1.3 with "The body of this clause contains state diagrams including definitions of variables, constants, and functions. The notation
used in the state diagrams follows the conventions of state diagrams as described in 145.2.5.2. Should there be a discrepancy between a state diagram and descriptive text, the state diagram prevails." “189.1.4.2 State diagram timer specifications” currently says “All timers operate in the manner described in 40.4.5.2.”. Add a pointer to “145.2.5.5 Timers” to the new text for 188.1.3
and 189.1.4. Note that 145.2.5.5 is not just the notation – it is also the timers. We don’t want to incorporate that, but should just point to the reference in clause 40 to avoid confusion.
The text also already exists in 188.1.3.2 and 189.1.4.2 Also, 188.1.3.1 and 189.1.4.1 contain all the text we are putting in. These need to be deleted to avoid duplication. Therefore I would change to: Change to: PROPOSED ACCEPT IN PRINCIPLE.
