10GBASE-T Call for Interest

With the current buzz around 10 Gigabit Ethernet over unshielded twisted pair (UTP) copper cabling, it is time to gather the experts for an IEEE 802.3 study group. The market is starting to request a UTP solution for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. There have been companies announcing transmission or the development of protocols to transmit 10GbE over UTP cabling. Now is the time to scope out the effort, to scope the task and start towards the development of a standards-based solution.
