IEEE P802.3dv 400 Gb/s/Lane Signaling Task Force Procedures
for Presenters
Deadline for Requesting Agenda Time to Make a Contribution
Contributors shall request agenda time to make a
contribution as per the meeting announcement.
Requests for agenda time shall be submitted by sending an
email to the chair.
The contributor shall provide the following information:
Name of contributor
Title of contribution
Length of time requested (this should include time for
questions and answers)
Brief description of the topic
If the "agenda time request" deadline is missed, agenda time
will be provided for the contribution on a best-effort basis
following the completion of the regular agenda (or as deemed
appropriate by the chair) if, based on a vote if necessary,
there is no objection to do so.
Deadline for submitting a contribution
The contributor shall submit a PDF soft-copy version of
the contribution by email to the chair by the deadline
per the meeting announcement for publication on the IEEE 802.3
400 Gb/s/Lane Signaling Task Force web site.
If the "contribution submission" deadline is missed, agenda
time for the contribution will be provided on a best-effort
basis following the completion of the regular agenda (or as
deemed appropriate by the chair) if, based on a vote if
necessary, there is no objection to do so, and before any
contribution that failed to meet the "agenda time request"
deadline. A PDF, soft-copy version of the contribution shall be
made available to the chair before the beginning of the
presentation.
Contribution Guidelines
Presentation requests are requests. There is no
guarantee that a request will be accepted.
Failure to meet guidelines may result in a loss of requested
agenda time.
Contributions shall be submitted in PDF format.
Neither the chair nor the web master will convert
contributions to PDF format.
Contributions not in PDF format will be returned.
Avoid graphic-intensive backgrounds or other decorative
graphics.
No animations, audio clips, video clips, etc.
Contribution size should be less than 2.0 MB.
No marketing pitches, product pitches or corporate pitches.
No prices, average selling prices (ASPs) or costs are
permitted.
Relative cost comparisons of components are permitted (i.e.
optics cost for option 1 is 3x the cost of option 2).
Relative cost comparisons of aggregate costs are not
permitted (i.e. PHY cost for option 3 is 2x the cost of option
4).
Relative cost comparison contributions that do not follow
these guidelines require an IEEE SA Risk Management review.
This review may take up to 30 days which could result in
the contribution being delayed to a later meeting.
This review may result in changes being required before the
contribution will be accepted.
Please consider contacting the chair if you want to provide
a relative cost comparison contribution.
No company copyright or confidentiality statements. All
contributions are posted to a publicly available website.
If the contribution is not ready for public disclosure, then it
shall not be contributed.
Any previously published material in a contribution has to be
accompanied by a completed IEEE-SA Copyright Permission Form.
