Greetings from sunny South Africa !
We
have an engineering student that we would like to keep busy. What
would be the best ( open source / commercial but available for academic use
) simulator for him to set up and play with ? Our
interest is VDSL over copper.
Please
reply direct to mikeb@bcnkbroadband.co.za if your
comments are off-the-subject for this forum or just plain
commercial ...
thanks,
mike barker
Hi,
As
Spirent has several different VDSL wireline simulator and noise impairment
systems used throughout the xDSL industry, we would be happy to consider a
loan of a simulator system to a test group managed by the IEEE, for a
period of time, to help validate the various tables if this would be of
assistance to the IEEE and development of the EFM-Copper
standard.
If there is interest please have have whoever is going to validate these tables
contact me directly to discuss further.
Best Regards

'haven't looked closely at this,
but it is publicly-available freeware.
As such, perhaps it would be
appropriate to use as the basis for the simulator(s) to be used to validate
Table 62B-1.
