With this email, I am announcing that the IEEE 802.3 PLCA Enhancement (eplca) Study Group will meet during the IEEE 802.3 September 2026 Interim meeting. (see announcement from our WG Chair:

The study group will meet (subject to change) three half days in the mornings of Monday ~ Wednesday (Sept 14~16th), with the goal of generating PAR And CRD responses and objectives list with sufficient consensus to pre-submit for November plenary (an aspirational goal).

Planning for the first Study Group Meeting in September 2026 (Lisbon)...PLEASE Read below.
- Meeting announcement will go out once email reflector is setup. This study group will meet 1/2 day Monday, 1/2 day Tuesday and 1/2 day Wednesday (tentative, subject to change).
- First order of the business to confirm pro tem chair or elect a new one.
- Requesting PAR (Project Authorization Request), CSD (Criteria for Standard Development), Objectives related presentations.
- Seeking relevant presenations that would help us to generate the above, such as compatibility (802.1 as well as 802.3), technical feasibility details (not proposals at this time, but existance proof details that speaks to feasibility), additional market or applications (CFI was on already emerged automotive segment), etc.
- Presentation request should be made to pro tem chair (yongkim@xxxxxxxx). Please make the agenda request even if you do not have the final presentation draft. The usual, name, affiliation, presenation title, and requested duration (with reasonable Q&A). Presentations will be posted in reasonablly real-time, unless requested to be held back to the september session week.
- Contribution to a draft PAR content, a draft CSD content, and a draft objecitves are posted now (to help promote discussions and contributions).
- We may have an ad hoc call prior to septemebr meeting to promote collabration. If this is decided, it will be announced at least 10 days proior to the proposed ad hoc (per 802.3 rules). Would like to get involved? Please contact the pro tem chair (yongkim@xxxxxxxx).
