Just a friendly reminder about the upcoming meeting this Thursday, March the 21st, between 8 am and 2 pm MNT time.

The proposed responses to all received comments can be found in the usual location: https://www.ieee802.org/3/2/a/comments/. Given the work load of 15 comments to be considered, we plan to review each and every comment. I do not expect the meeting to last more than an hour, including the introduction materials

Dear Task Force Participants,

As you probably noticed, the recirculation ballot closing date is past the planned joint P802.3.1b/P802.3.2a Task Force meeting during the upcoming 802.3 Working Group plenary meeting. This was primarily caused by the delay in getting the required compare (diff) files generated caused by FrameMaker challenges we ran into when trying to prepare draft D1.1.

As such, we will still hold the joint meeting, but we will not be in position to have comment resolution at that time. I plan to announce a virtual interim meeting for P802.3.2a Task Force only shortly, once we can figure out the availability of the Task Force Editor.

Best regards,

Marek Hajduczenia

Dear Task Force Participants,

With this e-mail, I'd like to announce the start of the IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b)/D1.1 Ethernet SMIv2 Data Model Definitions (revision) Working Group 1st recirculation ballot.

Open date: Tuesday 13th February 2024

Close date: Tuesday 27th February 2024 23:59 AOE

As stated in the announcement below, the ballot group for this draft is the IEEE 802.3 voting membership as of Monday 20th November 2023. All comments received before the close of ballot will be considered, the one limitation however is that if you are not a member of the balloting group, and therefore cannot cast a ballot, you cannot designate comments as TR or ER since you cannot cast a Disapprove ballot.

Best regards,

Marek Hajduczenia

Subject: +++ 802.3 WG 1st RECIRCULATION BALLOT: IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b) Ethernet SMIv2 Data Model Definitions (revision) D1.1 ballot

Dear Colleagues,

This is the announcement of the electronic IEEE 802.3 Working Group 1st recirculation ballot on the Amendment IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b) Ethernet SMIv2 Data Model Definitions (revision). Remember that voting, as well as attendance, is a requirement to maintain your IEEE 802.3-member (voter) status <http://ieee802.org/3/rules/member.html#DOT3>. Instructions for accessing the draft, casting your ballot, and submitting comments follow this announcement. Please review the commenting instructions below to ensure you are using the most up to date tools.

The ballot group for this draft is the IEEE 802.3 voting membership as of Monday 20th November 2023.

Because this is a recirculation ballot, YOU ONLY NEED TO CAST A BALLOT IF YOU WISH TO CHANGE YOUR VOTE FROM THAT WHICH WAS RECORDED ON THE INITIAL BALLOT OR LAST RECIRCULATION. If you voted previously and your vote has not changed, the last ballot cast will be carried over to this ballot and you do not need to cast a new ballot.

BALLOT SCOPE:

During this IEEE 802.3 Working Group 1st recirculation ballot, the scope of the ballot is the substantive changes between IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b)/D1.0 and IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b)/D1.1. There are no unsatisfied negative comments.

BALLOT OPEN:

Tuesday 13th February 2024

BALLOT CLOSE:

Tuesday 27th February 2024 23:59 AOE

The Project Authorization Request for this Amendment is available at <https://ieee802.org/3/1/b/P802d3d1_PAR.pdf> and includes the following:

TITLE:

Standard for Ethernet Structure of Management Information version 2 (SMIv2) Data Model Definitions

SCOPE OF PROJECT:

This standard defines Structure of Management Information version 2 (SMIv2) Management Information Base (MIB) module specifications for IEEE Std 802.3 Ethernet and associated managed object branch and leaf assignments used in the variable descriptors in IEEE Std 802.3 Variable Request operations, administration, and maintenance protocol data unit (OAMPDU).

NEED FOR THE PROJECT:

This revision is to address accumulated maintenance changes as well as appropriate updates to the IEEE Std 802.3.1 Structure of Management Information version 2 (SMIv2) MIB modules to support IEEE Std 802.3 amendments published since IEEE Std 802.3.1 was last revised in 2013.

Thank you for your participation in this ballot and careful review of the draft.
