Del laid out the business at hand:  Resolve 70 comments on clause 38.

We considered all the comments, including editorial, in order.
Before lunch,  we did #44 through #33, with #17 deferred till later.
We closely followed Del's proposed resolutions, with some changes in the
wording.

Broke for lunch 12:00 to 1:20

Resumed comment resolution.
About 2:00 PM, discussed comment #17 from H. Frazier, concerning
the Bandwidth cells in table  38-12. After some discussion, there was a
formal motion "To make no changes to the existing text":

  Motion  accepted by acclamation, without objection.

Comment resolution proceeded in order, with the exception of comment #81

At 5:05 PM, the last outstanding TR was resolved:  All recirculated TR's
and all new TR's are now done.

Comment #28 concerned section 38.9 PHY labeling, page 38.18;
It was resolved by the following motion:
   Remove item c), line 17
   remove item d), line 24
   remove ", multimode only" from item a), line 15

Comment #40 from Steve Swanson proposed deletion of Annex 38B
"Modal Bandwidth and launch conditions".  After some discussion, this was
resolved by a motion:
   Change title to "fiber launch conditions"
   Delete sections 38B.2, 38B.4, 38B.5, 38B.6
   Retain and renumber 38B.1, 38B.3

This left only comment #81, concerning the measurement procedure for the
receiver 3bB electrical upper cutoff frequency.

A subgroup was formed to meet this evening and report tomorrow on a
resolution of comment 81. The group members included David Cunningham,
Jonathan Thatcher, Mike Dudek, Dan Brown, and Del Hanson.

The last item of business was reponding to a letter from the TIA/Tony Bean
asking for guidance as to the bandwidth required to support 300 m
distance at 850 nm.  There was a motion:

  "Authorize Geoff Thompson to craft a response to Tony Bean's inquiry,
  stating 220 MHz-km is required to support 300 meters on 62.5 um for
  1000BASE-SX."

Del leads discussion of resolution of last comment, #81.

The subgroup worked the issue last night and made their proposed
revision of 38.6.12.

The group as a whole looked at the result, and made several changes
to the subgroup's proposal, to get the appropriate "shalls", to
improve the clarity, and correct the spelling.
Motion:
   To adopt the changes to 38.6.12 in order to resolve comment #81
