Re: June 24th meeting

Hi All,

I look forward to seeing some of you at the face-to-face on Friday. In case you haven't seen it already attached is FCC chairman Tom Wheeler's speech (and lengthy Q&A) on 5G vision from earlier this week. It involves a mix of licensed and unlicensed spectrum - and plans for a lot more of each of them. He also mentions how he sees standards setting organizations fitting into the development of 5G. He acknowledges the situation is different in other regions of the world, but without saying "IMT-2020" he seems to imply that process and others have no impact on US spectrum policy. I'm interested to hear if others interpret his statements differently.

There is a video of the event as well: http://www.press.org/news-multimedia/videos/npc-luncheon-tom-wheeler
