[802-LMSC] IEEE P802.3 (IEEE 802.3du) draft PAR - Standard for Ethernet (Revision)

In support of subclause 9.2 'IEEE 802 LMSC Approval' of the LMSC Operations Manual please find below the required information in respect to the IEEE P802.3 (IEEE 802.3du) Standard for Ethernet (Revision) PAR for consideration at the November 2025 plenary.

[2] Explanatory technical background material:
IEEE Std 802.3-2022 will need to be revised to allow future amendments to be considered per standards board policies. This revision will include the merge of approved amendments and accumulated maintenance changes. As there are a number of amendment projects currently in the "pipeline", it is desirable to complete this revision in a timely manner to provide a solid base for balloting of the projects that will follow. Timely completion of the revision is also desired to avoid delays to these projects. The consequence of these schedule considerations is that new capabilities or functional enhancements may have to be deferred to future projects.
[3] Status of the development of the PAR:
The draft PAR responses are pending IEEE 802.3 Working Group approval at the November 2025 plenary.
Since the submission deadline for the December 2025 NesCom meeting occurs before the date of the November IEEE 802 EC meeting, I will pre-submit this draft PAR to NesCom on the understanding that:
[a] Any changes to the draft PAR text resulting from the Plenary will be promptly communicated to the NesCom Administrator.
[b] Should the IEEE 802.3 Working Group not approve the submission, it will be removed from the IEEE 802 LMSC and NesCom agenda.
[c] Should the IEEE 802 LMSC not approve the submission, it will be removed from the NesCom agenda.
