Re: [802-LMSC] 802.1 WG PAR and CSD updates based on WG responses

Hi Glenn,
The updates are aligned with what we were looking for.
My understanding is that changes after Wednesday are presented to the LMSC in redline form, and not on a consent agenda.

I will be supportive of the updated PAR/CSD.

Greetings Glenn and folks with the P802.1AReg:

We would ask that you revisit 5.5 in the PAR:

 

802.1AReg - Response: Change the third sentence to: “Post Quantum Cryptography supported DevIDs are expected to become a requirement for many governmental procurements (in January 2027 in the United States of America, with a full transition by 2031, as prescribed in US Quantum Computing Cybersecurity Preparedness Act (US 117-260)).”

We have an ongoing concern that this does not clarify that there are “many Governments”.

Suggested “for many governments in their procurements”
Suggest moving the parenthetical to 8.1, and then you can reference other governments if known. (multiple examples are encouraged).
