[802-LMSC] Google update

Folks,

 

In case you missed it, the GoogleApps@IEEE has been updated.

 

The short story is that all IEEE Google accounts:

  • Are now premium (or Enterprise basic)
  • Include 200Gb storage
  • Include Google Workspace with Gemini
  • Allow full rights with Google Shared Drives
  • Are included in 2026 IEEE membership at no extra charge, if you already have it and are renewing

 

The 802.1 WG has an IEEE SA owned/assigned “Google Shared Drive” but this was previously unusable with the IEEE Google accounts.  With this change, these Shared Drives (with unlimited storage) can now be a useful document storage alternative with access control.
