It has been suggested to me that my first motion would be better worded as:

 

  • Approve János Farkas as a delegate of the IEEE 802 Standards Committee to attend the April 2026 SC 6 Plenary (and any relevant WG meetings).

 

I am apparently grandfathered into that position and do not require further authorization. And the proper subclause is 7.1.7, although 7.1.6 is worth the read as well.

                By way of explanation, this is a newish requirement as given in subclause 7.1.6 of the IEEE SA Standards Board Operations Manual, if I understand Jodi’s training deck correctly.

This will be similar to https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/25/ec-25-0144-00-JTC1-communication-to-jtc1-sc6-new-study-groups-july-2025.pdf. It is my intent to populate the document with the study groups that are approved during the closing plenary. This is done on an as needed basis to inform JTC 1/SC 6 of new work being undertaken in IEEE 802, as agreed to in our PSDO agreement.

 

Should I have gotten any of this wrong, please let me know.
