[802-LMSC] Attendance at the July 2026 tutorials.

Dear 802 LMSC

A question was raised regarding meeting fees associated with the July 2026 tutorials.

George Zimmerman has provided me advice on the relevant rules.
Based on that advice, I am issuing this ruling from the Chair for the July 2026 plenary:
 1) Anyone may attend (in person or remotely) a tutorial at the July 2026 session without being required to pay a fee.  Note that if an individual attends a technical meeting of an IEEE 802 Plenary Session, either in person or remotely, is required to pay the meeting fee for that session
 2) Everyone who attends on-site at the July 2026 session is required to register and obtain a badge.  Please contact Face-to-Face events by email if you require a badge and are only attending one or more of the tutorials,
 3) All those who attend a tutorial shall register their attendance in IMAT, or if unable to register via IMAT, shall send an email to the IEEE 802 LMSC Chair, copying the Vice Chairs indicating their attendance and affiliation for the tutorials at which they are attending.

Reasoning:
 1) The IEEE 802 LMSC declined to set a separate fee for the tutorials when the fees were set for the meeting.
 2) The requirement to register and obtain a badge is clearly intended for on-site attendees and is logistically impossible for remote attendees.
 3) We require all individuals to register attendance at any meeting in which they attend.
