RE: [Fwd: draft for IETF]

Hi Albert,

Thank you very much for the corrections. Document still needs to address the some of the
issues Albert has raised. Please feel free to send me your comments.

Sanjay,

Just a correction.

The IETF workgroup we're after is IPoPTR (IP over Packet
Transport Rings). The framework document is work in progress
that is being developed in parallel of obtaining WG approval.
Although the Charter was reviewed by the IESG, we haven't
received official WG status. The resulting framework document
draft will be a result of a WG effort which still has to take place.
Certain architectural issues have to be discussed especially in the area
of architectural demarc and Layer integrity.

I have a few concerns in the document since it states certain
functionalities that are the domain of the MAC and does not belong
on the IPoPTR Framework document. We want to assume only
fundamental features within 802.17 that we know are agreed upon
and will not change.

The IPoPTR psuedo-WG will meet within the weeks prior to the
49th IETF and we hope that we can iron out these details.
In the mean time, we are expecting input from other individuals.
Please hold off on any drafts that are still to be incorporated into a
combined WG draft.

Thanks.

Albert Herrera
