Re: [802SEC] Question about Conducting Official Business

Bob

Paul and I have a difference on our interpretation of the rules.

If we take votes on motions in either session, I will ask the Chair to rule them out of order.

If the Chair rules that we can conduct votes, I will then file an appeal for every action that was taken on the call.

None of which is necessary, because we have a legitimately scheduled electronic meeting on April 7 at which time such motions would be in order.

If there is something for which there is an urgent need for LMSC approval, an early close electronic ballot is allowed in our rules.

I am unaware of any 802.15 business that requires resolution prior to April 7. Did I miss something?

Dear Bob,

I am sorry for the confusion.

To remove uncertainty, let me be clear:  the 16 March 2020 and 20 March 2020 EC meetings will be held electronically as I noted in my 06 March 2020 email to the EC reflector, http://www.ieee802.org/secmail/msg24247html,

We may conduct official business as necessary and permitted during an EC call, just like we usually do during our interim EC electronic meetings.

Hi Paul

From the email chatter, it appears we can not conduct official business (other than through eballots) until the April 7 call.  Can you please confirm that? It would be helpful in planning what needs doing.  In the case of 802.15, it is seeking approval to forward the drafts for 802.15.4 Revision4 and 802.15.4z to RevCom..

Thanks

Bob
