Re: [802SEC] Friday Meeting - EC Agenda - .18 reply comments approved

hello all,
we  were able to approve the reply comments for the FCC NPRM on the ITS/5.9 GHz band today, r03 of: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/20/18-20-0045

a couple of points i will bring up tomorrow.
= we did find a couple of grammar edits and will add a simple exec.summary up front, so will bring to you r04, which i will get up on mentor soon.
= we also heard that at least one company has sent a request in to extend the deadline.  so i will hold off a couple of days to start the eballot, to see if the FCC acts on the request or not.  though will not depend on it.
talk friday,
jay

hi all,

i am agreeing also.  it seems to make sense on friday to review the e-ballots that would be coming and be sure they are in good shape, any edits/mods needed, etc.  that should make the call and the e-ballots go smoother.

i appreciate James mentioning mine and as we all know my ballots are a little different than many of the rest, e.g. how deadlines are externally set, etc.

anyway, i will have the e-ballot for the FCC reply comments that i have been bringing up ready to review friday.  and after the RR-TAG vote on Thursday i will send out results and the approved doc for a heads up.

enjoy your day and stay safe,

jay

PS: NPRM reply comments will be in doc: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/20/18-20-0045 , work much in progress, yet.

I agree with what has been said by John, Jon, Roger, George and Steve
(sounds like a British rock band).

We can use the time productively by reviewing materials and the motion
text.  That should smooth the subsequent email ballot.

We should consider re-ordering our for Friday based on the due date of
the relevant items.  Jay, for example, has an item on a tight time line
for which we would do well to have consensus to ensure a smooth approval.

As we know, we don’t have a clean process for amending ballots (e.g., we don’t do a format recirc), so things are much smoother when then content is reviewed and agreed beforehand.
