[STDS-802-11-TGAQ] Removal of ULP encapsulation

Dear all,
during today's TGaq meeting, the group started to consider the removal of the Upper Layer Protocol (ULP) encapsulation feature.  This is because there are quite a few comments received during LB208 that are concerned about the security aspects of this approach.

Nothing has been decided within TGaq at the moment, as the people who originally suggested this feature are not present at this week's meeting in Vancouver. I have been asked to send out this email to determine if there is any  remaining interest in ULP encapsulation.

Therefore if you have a solution for ULP encapsulation that can address the security issues mentioned in the LB208 comments, please can you respond to this email by 12 noon ET on Thursday 14th May 2015.

The specific clauses within D1.2, which will be affected, are:
8.4.2.174
8.4.5.22              (originally 8.4.4.22 in D1.0)
10.25.3.2.11.3

Thanks.

Kind regards

Stephen
