hi all,

from the 802.18 teleconference this week we have another consultation that IEEE 802 may be interested in sending in comments.  this one is from the United Arab Emirates and is on their regulations for UWB and Short-Range Devices.  in the .18 review this week there were several areas we might be interested in, including UWB, 5.9GHz band, 76-81 GHz, recent 802.11 developments, etc. (summary is in <this weeks agenda>).

this UAE consultation is in Mentor:

https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/20/18-20-0121-00-0000-uae-tra-uwb-and-srd-regulations-consultation.docx

and if you want to look on their site:

https://www.tra.gov.ae/en/eparticipation/consultations/details.aspx?id=1630

like most, time is short and .18 would need to approve comments at our next teleconference on 03Sep20.  (there is no call on 27th).

if some comment text comes in, i have set up an ad hoc for wednesday 02Sep20, from 15:00-17:00 et.  here is the call-in info:

if we get some contributions for the Saudi Arabi consultation (below) we can review at this ad hoc also.  we have one additional week for comments on the Saudi Arabi one.

would appreciate any text for comments from anyone,

thanks

hello all,

there is a consultation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on their 5 year spectrum outlook, that in the 802.18 teleconference’s we have seen where IEEE 802 could have some input for them.

two areas of note for IEEE 802 is on the 6GHz band possibly and the mmWave 60GHz band. the consultation has focused on IMT, fyi.

the consultation is in Mentor:

and if you want to look on their site:

September 27 is the deadline so IEEE 802.18 we need to approve by 10Sept20 with our processes.

at this time we are looking for a paragraph or two on any of the points to drop into some comments to send them.  you can reply on the .18 listserver or if you want, send direct to me.

would appreciate any text for comments from anyone,
