stds-802-16-tg1: About UL/DL channel ID

Hello,

I have questions.

UCD and DCD is assigned uplink/downlink channel IDs. Under these channel IDs,

a list of UIUC/DIUC and corresponding burst profiles is associated.

The standard does not explicate the motivation of having defined these IDs.

The standard says “This identifier is arbitrarily chosen by the BS and is only unique

within the MAC-Sublayer domain. It also describes how to obtain uplink parameters that begins with

reading out channel ID field and then check for channel usability for the channel ID. SS would lose

synchronization with uplink channel when UL-MAP or UCD were not received within expiration time.

So, I guess by altering channel ID BS might be able to induce SS’s synchronization procedure.

But I might have missed the target?

What does “unique within the MAC-Sublayer domain” mean? Does it imply the uniqueness of ID within

a cell?
