[802.3_100GEL] Common Mode Voltage

This is a follow up to then January 11, 2022 .3ck ad-hoc for mellitz_3ck_adhoc_01_011222.

The attached is 4-page presentation for what I thought may be apparent discussion trends.

The text in the slides are as follows:

____________________________________________

Proposal 1: Separate CM voltage specification by frequency Comment: # I-101 & # I-10

Separate low and high frequency measured common mode voltage

  1. V_CM(LF)  is V_CM filtered with a low pass 4th order Bessel Thomson filter with 3 dB point a f(LF)cm

  o) V_CM(HF)  is V_CM filtered with a high pass 4th order Bessel Thomson filter with 3 dB point a f(HF)cm

f(LF)cm=f(HF)cm -->100 MHz

____________________________________________

Proposal 2: for CL 163 and Annex 120F Comments: # I-101 & # I-102

VCMPP_LF (max) --> 30 mV (new line in tables)

   o) Used for low frequency

SCMRHF(min) --> 15 dB

   o) Used for high frequency

____________________________________________

Proposal 3: Replace CMS RMS with VCMPP Comments: # I-103, # I-104, and # I-105

VCMPP = 233 mV (table 162-10, #I-103)

VCMPP = 213 mV (table 120G-1, #I-104 and table 120G-3, #I-105)

Note LF/HF was not included in these comments 3

    o) LF/HF and correlated vs. uncorrelated adjustments could addressed when more data is available.

Some of these values could become a straw ballot. Please indicate suggestions in that respect. Comments are also welcome.

I’m also asking if you would support this presentation.

Thank You,

Rich Mellitz
