[10GBT] FW: [802.3] +++P802.3an, 10GBASE-T initial WG ballot

Dear Task Force members,

802.3an has opened for Working Group ballot.  Non-802.3-voting members are welcome to participate in submitting comments by using the instructions in the email below but are requested to only submit technical (T) and editorial (E) comments.  ER and TR comments submitted by non-802.3-voting members will be treated as E and T comments.  802.3 voting members are requested to ensure that they submit a ballot.  Disapprove ballots should be accompanied by either a TR or an ER comment.

Thank you,
Brad

Subject: [802.3] +++P802.3an, 10GBASE-T initial WG ballot

IEEE 802.3 Working Group Voters, Observers, and Liaisons:

This is the announcement of the electronic IEEE 802.3 Working Group ballot on P802.3an, 10GBASE-T.  Remember that voting as well as attendance is a requirement to maintain your 802.3 member (voter) status.

Instructions for accessing the draft, casting your ballot and submitting comments follow this announcement.  As two 802.3 WG ballots are now running in parallel (P802.3aq, 10GBASE-LRM is already open), proper subject lines on ballots and comments are essential for your ballot and comments to be accepted.

The project is an amendment to IEEE Std 802.3.  IEEE Std 802.3-2002 including its five amendments is the current base document.  P802.3REVam is a revision that merges the amendments into 802.3-2002 as well as including maintenance changes and changes made during the revision process.  Because approval of P802.3REVam is expected prior to Sponsor ballot on this project, changes to the base document are written against P802.3REVam rather than IEEE Std 802.3-2002.

TITLE:

Draft: Information technology -- Telecommunications and information exchange between systems -- Local and metropolitan area networks -- specific requirements Part 3: Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection (CSMA/CD) Access Method and Physical Layer Specifications

BALLOT SCOPE:

As an initial WG ballot, the scope of the ballot is the complete P802.3an/D2.0 draft.

BALLOT OPEN:

Thursday, 4 April 2005

BALLOT CLOSE:

Friday, 9 May 2005

Thank you for your participation in this ballot and careful review of the draft.
