Guidelines for IEEE-SA Meetings was shown.

D’Ambrosia asked Andy Moorwood to chair meeting during his presentation.  Moorwood agreed

D’Ambrosia presented 100GbE / 400GbE – Broad Market Potential (http://www.ieee802.org/3/400GSG/public/adhoc/app/dambrosia_app_01_14_0108.pdf)

·         D’Ambrosia expressed concern on how data center application space included as part of broad market potential response.

o   He noted that his proposed response was written based on the assumption of no inclusion of breakout.

o   Tom Palkert expressed that he felt there was no broad market potential without inclusion of breakout.

o   There was a lot of debate.

·         D’Ambrosia noted that due to recent rules changes, the 5 Criteria undergo further reviews during the standards project.  Further clarification provided by David Law, 802.3 WG Chair.

·         During Q&A, question regarding material on Slide #4, and what was included in each shipment type.  Dale Murray was on the call, but had to review specifics of data.  D’Ambrosia stated he used graphs as example of delta between telecom / datacom deployments.

·         David Law noted that inclusion of a topic in criteria response without a supporting objective might become an issue.

·         D’Ambrosia asked to present his next presentation after a while, as there was relevant data in that presentation related to this topic.  He also asked Andy to continue chairing the call during his next presentation.

D’Ambrosia presented “Proposed Responses – Broad Market Potential”  (http://www.ieee802.org/3/400GSG/public/adhoc/app/dambrosia_app_02_14_0108.pdf)

·         D’Ambrosia went over supporting presentations on BMP from the spreadsheet he had previously sent out to the reflector.  Some of the presentations were re-discussed in terms of statements related to data center BMP.

·         The meeting went past scheduled time due to conversation.  D’Ambrosia asked for feedback regarding proposed responses.  There was general approval of the nature of the proposed comments with some modifications.  Pete Anslow indicated he had some comments some focusing on editorial.  In the interest of time, D’Ambrosia asked the group if anyone had any objections to his offline working with Pete to address his comments and bringing that forward – there were none.  (See attached file, which is proposed BMP, which includes modifications discussed during meeting plus those issues noted by Anslow.)
