[EFM] IEEE P802.3ah/D3.3 Comment resolution

Dear Members of the IEEE 802.3ah EFM Task Force,
and the IEEE 802.3 CSMA/CD Working Group,

As previously announced, we held a brief conference call
this morning to consider and respond to the three comments
that were submitted against D3.3 during the third sponsor
recirculation ballot.

The results of the call are that the one editorial comment
on changed text was withdrawn by the balloter. The remaining
two comments from a balloter who previously voted Negative
were rejected with an appropriate rebuttal. Since these two
comments do not concern the contents of the balloted draft,
they do not require recirculation.

Reports of the comments from the third recirculation ballot,
as well as updated reports of the comments remaining from
previously ballots, can be found at the following URL:

http://www.ieee802.org/3/efm/public/comments/

On the basis of these facts, I conclude that we have successfully
completed the IEEE-SA sponsor ballot process. Your Working Group
chair and I will inform the IEEE 802 Executive Committee of these
facts, in fulfillment of the requirements under which we were granted
conditional approval to submit the draft to the IEEE-SA Standards
Board Standards Review Committee. I have prepared the RevCom submittal
package, and fully expect to submit it before the May 14, 2004 deadline
for consideration at the June, 2004 IEEE-SA Standards Board meeting.

Congratulations!

Howard Frazier
Chair, IEEE 802.3ah EFM Task Force
