[802.3_DIALOG] FW: [EXTERNAL][IEEE P370] Reminder P370 participants: Please Join the Ballot Pool by 16-May-2019, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

This is an FYI.

I am forwarding this SA invite from the chair of the IEEE P370 WG because many of you may use or refer to s-parameters in IEEE802.3 specifications. An expert of the purpose from the PAR is below.

“5.4 Purpose: The purpose of this standard is to define methodologies by which high-quality scattering parameters (S-Parameters) can be

obtained for electrical PCB and related interconnects that are intended to operate at frequencies up to 50 GHz.”

Best Regard,
Richard Mellitz

(email bcced to all)

Dear IEEE P370 participants and listeners,

Thanks to the great efforts of our members, the IEEE P370 draft is in the stage of Ballot invitation. To cast a ballot, you must enroll as a member of the ballot group by 16-May-2019, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

If you have already “joined interest” following the previous email, you should have received an email notification for you to join the ballot (from “IEEE-SA sa-ballot@xxxxxxxx, the subject may be a little bit different depends on your notification setting). Please follow the steps in the email to join ballot group.  I am copying the instructions here as well:

***** ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS *****

If you are an IEEE-SA member:

Go directly to:

https://development.standards.ieee.org/my-site/open-ballot-invitations

Or, follow this process:

1. Log onto myProject; click the link for myBallot.
2. Click the link for myBallot (if applicable); click the link for "Show/Join Open Ballot Invitations":https://development.standards.ieee.org/my-site/open-ballot-invitations
3. Scroll down until you find the open ballot group of interest to you; then scroll over to the right margin and click "join" under the "Actions" column.
4. Enter or select an affiliation from the drop down menu (appearing as you key in your affiliation in the Organization window), select your classification category, and click "OK" at the bottom of the screen. You will receive an on-screen confirmation that you successfully joined the group.

If you are not an IEEE SA Member:
You can either enroll in a single ballot by paying a per ballot fee or you can join the IEEE SA by choosing an option link below. Joining the IEEE SA entitles you to participate in as many sponsor ballots as you like for the year.

OPTION 1 - I am already an IEEE Member and I want to add Standards Association Membership. Go to: http://www.ieee.org/membership_services/index.html
OPTION 2 - I am not an IEEE Member but would like to enroll in both IEEE and IEEE Standards Association. Go to: http://www.ieee.org/membership_services/membership/join/index.html
OPTION 3 - I am not interested in becoming an IEEE Member, however I would like to enroll as a Standards Association Member only. Go to: http://standards.ieee.org/sa-mem/join.html

============================================
OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF BALLOTERS
============================================
Balloting group members have an obligation to respond during the balloting period; failure to return a ballot may disqualify the balloter from participation in future balloting groups.

Once the document is ready to be balloted, you will receive notification via email. You will typically have 30 days to review the document and return the ballot with your vote. By agreeing to participate in this ballot you have an *obligation* to respond. Failure to return a completed ballot may disqualify you from participating in future ballots.

Thank you for your interest in this ballot.

Below is the earlier email on how to “join interest”, if you have already done so, you can ignore rest of message

-----------------------

A few reminders:

  • If you have not done so (I sent instructions last October already): In order for you to receive official ballot invitation from IEEE (which will occur sometime in 2019/04), you must register your interest of P370 at  http://development.standards.ieee.org/my-site.  Please follow the instructions in the attached power point file to register your interest in P370.
    • You should use your IEEE login to access the site.  (which means you need to be an IEEE member).
    • Additional information about where to find IEEE P370 once you logged in “myproject”: click “Manage Activity Profile”, you will need to click the “+” sign next to “IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society” to expand the options. See screenshot below.

  • You don’t have to be an IEEE SA (standard association) member to register your interest in P370.  But you will need to be an SA member to cast your vote.  Join at http://standards.ieee.org/.
  • If you encounter any difficulty, let me know.

Thank you very much!
