[802.3_DIALOG] IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b) Ethernet SMIv2 Data Model Definitions (revision) initial IEEE 802.3 Working Group ballot results

Dear Colleagues,

The initial IEEE 802.3 Working Group ballot on the Revision IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b) Ethernet SMIv2 Data Model Definitions (revision) closed successfully on 20th December 2023. The ballot exceeded the required 75% for consensus to approve the draft. The 24 January 2024 joint IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b)/ IEEE P802.3.2 (IEEE 802.3.2a) Task Force Meeting <https://ieee802.org/3/calendar.html> will consider the 18 comments submitted and determine changes to the draft as appropriate. The availability of the comment database will be announced on the IEEE 802.3 Maintenance reflector.

An additional 5 comments were received after the ballot closed, these comments will be marked as 'late' in the comment report and will be considered by the IEEE P802.3.1 (IEEE 802.3.1b) Task Force if, based on a vote if necessary, there is no objection to do so.

The ballot statistics are:

 269 Voters
 101 Approve
   2 Disapprove 
  37 Abstain
 140 Ballots returned

  52% Response Rate (> 50% required)
  26% Abstain Rate (< 30% required)
  98% Approval Rate (>= 75% required)
