IEEE 802.5 Meeting 'gg': Hotel information

Folks:

I completed the arrangements for AMP's sponsoring the IEEE 802.5 August interim meeting. We scheduled it to take place during the week of August 24. Here are the particulars:

Meeting Location: The meeting will take place at AMP's Global Leadership Center in Harrisburg, PA. (411 South 40th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111-1503). AMP will provide coffee (including some yuppie coffees), soft drinks, and lunch.

Airport: The nearest airport is Harrisburg International Airport. Its designation is MDT. The airlines coming in are: USAir (serving Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Allentown), United (serving Chicago), Continental (serving Cleveland), Air Toronto (serving Toronto, thus the international connection), Delta (serving Atlanta), and American.

Hotel: I chose the Wyndham Garden Hotel. It seems to be a real good buy for business travelers. You can get a rate of $69 per night by invoking the block name AMP-802.5. This rate includes a full, hot, buffet breakfast. Here are the particulars for the hotel:

  1. Hotel Contact Information:
    765 Eisenhower Blvd.
    Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17111
    Phone: 717 558 9500 or 800 253 0236
    Fax: 717 558 8956
  2. Getting there:
The Wyndham Garden Hotel - Harrisburg is located on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Exit 19 and is also off the Swatara exit (Exit 1) of Interstate 283. The hotel is next to Bob Evan's Restaurant. The hotel also provides complimentary airport transportation. (See map)
  3. Number of Rooms: 167
  4. Currency: US Dollars
  5. Time Zone: Eastern
  6. Accepted Credit Cards:
  7. Hotel Features:
  8. Dining and Entertainment at the hotel:
The Garden Cafe restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Room service is available each evening. There is a lobby lounge for relaxation and refreshment in a casual atmosphere.
  9. Local Activities and Attractions:

Map: It turns out that the way to get from the hotel to the meeting location could confuse folks. Well, here are some maps. At least you'll have them and be able to see where you went wrong.

Contact Person: There may be some of you who have questions or simply need to hear a friendly voice. Well, that's Beth Shutt. She's the one who made the arrangements and is familiar with what's going on. Don't hesitate contacting Beth via email: bshutt@amp.com, or, via voice: +717 810 4665, or, via fax: +717 810 4655.
