IEEE P802 Link Security 
Executive Committee Study Group (ECSG) 
On November 15, 2002, the IEEE 802
Executive Committee approved the Link Security Executive Committee Study Group
with the following scope and charter: 
- Scope : Link Security for IEEE 802 Networks 
 
 - Charter : 
 
 
  - Evaluate link security
      architecture issues with the objective of identifying the broader scope
      that can be common to all MAC solutions 
 
  - Develop a PAR and 5
      Criteria for a new standard for link security that can be applied to IEEE
      802 networks, and in particular to 802.3 networks 
 
  - Make a recommendation on
      the placement of the project within IEEE 802 and/or existing working
      groups 
 
 
On March 2003, the Link Security Study Group was moved to P802.1WG by  
recommendation of the Study Group after evaluation of the placement of the project. 
The study group activities continue as normal with no changes
under P802.1 WG. The home page and email reflector will soon transition to
 P802.1WG page.

posted in this page and to the Study Group reflector
