[802SEC] Computer Society Standards Activity Board 9 March 2005 meeting agenda in Portlad

Title: SAB agenda, meeting, and AudCom reminder
Dear EC members,

I am looking for someone from LMSC in the Portland area to substitute for me at the next CS-SAB meeting 9 March.  If one of you (or a member of leadership group) your can attend on my behalf, it will be appreciated.  The only action item I have is to present the 802 sponsor report, which I have completed and submitted to CS-SAB already.

Regards,

Subject: SAB agenda, meeting, and AudCom reminder

Just a reminder.. the next SAB AdCom meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 8 March 2005, and the full SAB meeting is Wednesday, 9 March 2005, at the:

Portland Hilton & Executive Towers
921 SW Sixth Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97204 USA
Tel: +1-503-226-1611
Fax: +1-503-220-2565
http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=PDXPHHH

Please make your hotel room reservations early by calling the Portland Hilton & Towers at +1-800-HILTONS (445-8667) or +1-503-226-1611. Specify that you are with the "IEEE Computer Society" room block. Room rates for single/double occupancy are $125.00 USD. The deadline for hotel reservations at guaranteed rates is TUESDAY, 15 FEBRUARY 2005 at 5:00pm Pacific time. The hotel will require an advance deposit equal to one night's stay to guarantee your reservation. Deposits will be fully refunded if cancellation notice is submitted prior to 6:00pm Pacific time on the date of arrival.

Please review the agenda (
http://standards.computer.org/sabminutes/2005Wint/) with respect to your contribution, and also tell me if you would like to add anything to the agenda. If you will not be attending, please let me know as soon as possible.

Stephanie White, the new TAB chair, and I will be presenting proposed initiatives from JanPlan and targets for interoperability between our two groups (SAB and TAB) on Wednesday @ 1:00. Also there will be a brainstorming session on how we can improve the computer society’s image with practitioners.  Later that afternoon @ 3:00 Yervant Zorian will be presenting lessons learned from the Test Technology TC.

Very important
IEEE AudCom has asked that all standards development organizations, Sponsors/Working Groups, report whether they manage their own finances. If Sponsors/Working Groups do manage their own budgets they have asked that basic financial reports be prepared and submitted to the IEEE Standards Department on a calendar-year basis. The initial deadline for this is Feb 5 2005.  For those sponsor chairs that have not provided me with the budget status of each of their working groups/projects I need this information in order to provide a report to AudCom NLT February 5th.

Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing everyone,
Kathy Land
