Re: [802SEC] Jim Carlo

Very sad news. Jim was always a respected level-headed leader. I enjoyed working with him as a Working Group Chair and LMSC Chair. He was part of the successful transition of leadership from founders of IEEE 802 to another generation and embarking on new areas of work. My heart goes out to Muffy at this difficult time.

Dear EC Members,

It is with a heavy heart I must let you know I just found out late tonight Jim Carlo passed away. I recently spoke to him--he was not doing to well, but hanging in there as best he could in his battle with cancer. For those of you that new him, he was a great representative of 802 and the Standards Association, and a mentor to me. I will miss him. Rest in peace Jame T. Carlo--the 802 community shall mourn for you.

Sadly,

 Dear Token Ringers,
This is a sad email. I just heard from Muffy Carlo that Jim Carlo has passed away. I spoke with Jim shortly before Christmas after hearing from Muffy that he had been battling cancer for two years. He was in good spirits, but obviously in deteriorating health.
I thoroughly enjoyed working closely with him for many years and will miss him.
I wanted to let those of you that knew him and worked with him to know and to spread the word to others that would want to know.
 Bob Love
