All, I have spent today reviewing the endorsement and affiliation letters that I have received. I have contacted all individuals either confirming their receipt or noting whatever issues I found. If you did not receive an email from me and you sent your necessary paperwork, please contact me. If you have not submitted your paperwork as of yet, please see the email below with directions on this paperwork. Regards, John D’Ambrosia Recording Secretary, IEEE 802 LMSC From: jdambrosia@gmail.com <jdambrosia@gmail.com> Dear Potential 802 EC Members, As announced by the IEEE 802 Chair, Paul Nikolich, at the IEEE 802 Nov 2023 Opening Meeting, the 2024 elections will be held at the IEEE 802 March 2024 Plenary. (For information about the meeting see http://802world.org/plenary/ [802world.org]). Per IEEE 802 LMSC P&P, Section 4.3 (see https://ieee.app.box.com/v/PandP-LMSC [ieee.app.box.com]) – “Any person to be confirmed or elected by the Standards Committee shall, prior to confirmation or election by the Standards Committee, file with the Recording Secretary a letter of endorsement from their supporting entity.” WG Chairs, WG Vice Chairs, Appointed Sponsor Officers, and Appointed Sponsor Non-Voting Members are all confirmed by the Standards Committeer. Any individual who would like to run for one of these positions or anticipates being appointed to one, will be required to submit a letter of endorsement signed by both the Standards Committee member and "an individual who has management responsibility for the Standards Committee member" prior to a confirmation vote. In addition, per Section 4.6 of the IEEE 802 Chair’s Guidelines (see https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/17/ec-17-0120-37-0PNP-ieee-802-lmsc-chairs-guidelines.pdf]) - All members of the Standards Committee and WG/TAG Vice Chairs that are confirmed or elected, prior to confirmation or election, shall provide a signed letter that states their affiliation. The individual's affiliation(s) shall consist of all affiliation(s) associated with their participation in any standards development activity associated within the Standards Committee. This requirement may also be met by having an explicit statement of affiliation in the endorsement letter described in the “Voting membership” subclause of the IEEE LMSC Policies and Procedures. A statement of affiliation should be in the form of “For the purposes of IEEE 802.” Acceptable templates for these two documents (in both Word 97/2000/XP and Open Document Format (ODF)) can be found at https://www.ieee802.org/devdocs.shtml. All individuals are strongly encouraged to use these templates. As confirmation will take place at the March 2024 closing plenary, I will need the documents prior to the start of the March Closing 2024 Plenary. As a reminder, please make sure that all emails providing these required letters do not have restrictive notices at the bottom of the email.
