Re: [STDS-802-11-CAC] Fwd: [802SEC] New and improved CSD/5C!

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Chairs' Advisory Committee Reflector ---

Hello Jon, Adrian, and Bruce,

Now I am confused (and a little frustrated). What exactly do I need to do in the limited SG time that I have.

I looked at the CSD document it seems to me that it is a shuffling of a few 5C sections. CSD seems to consist of 2 sections:

1.1   Project process requirements and it included management objects and coexistence (which is already covered in the 5C doc we have)

1.2   5C which we already approved yesterday.

What exactly do I need to do? Create a new doc and add the 1.1 part which seems to require Yes/No answer, and create 1.2 which include the 5C.

Can someone come to the room in AM1 and explain to the group how we proceed?

Regards;

Osama.

All

In our closing meeting in November, we approved changes to the
operations manual that changed many things with respect to the 5C.

These changes took effect at the end of the plenary session and hence
are the rules that we will use in March.

Some of the bigger changes are:
  1. Project fill out a Criteria for Standards Development (CSD)
statement that includes project process requirements and the 5C
  2. WGs and the Sponsor need to review and approve the CSD when:
    a. Forwarding the PAR to NesCom
    b. As part of the WG ballot to assure the draft is consistent with
the 5C
    c. Forwarding the draft to Sponsor ballot
    d. Forwarding the draft to RevCom
  3. The CSD requirements remain the same throughout the life of a project

I have posted .doc and .odt format versions of the CSD copied from the
OM at:
http://www.ieee802.org/misc-docs/IEEE_802_CSD_v13.odt
http://www.ieee802.org/misc-docs/IEEE_802_CSD_v13.doc
