Geolocation Mobility And Platform Type
|
Set to 0 to indicate that mobility of the STA with respect to Earth (i.e., geolocation mobility) and the type of the platform on which the STA is carried are unspecified.
Set to 1 to indicate that the STA has no geolocation mobility over the corresponding timescale.
NOTE 1―Typically, the STA is fixed to a platform that is fixed to Earth.
Set to 2 to indicate that the STA is fixed to a platform that supports geolocation mobility over the corresponding timescale and is designed to, or is used to, carry one or more humans.
NOTE 2―Examples of such platforms are planes, trains and automobiles, crewed spacecraft, gliders, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, riding horses, ships, boats and crewed submersibles.
Set to 3 to indicate the STA is carried on a platform that supports geolocation mobility over the corresponding timescale and is not covered by the value 2, or the STA is portable and moves between a sequence of fixed platforms with at least one platform change
anticipated at least once during the corresponding timescale.
NOTE 3― Examples of such mobile platforms are drones, draft horses, humans, pets and wheeled toys. An example of such portable STAs is a set of APs deployed for an event that periodically changes venue.
The timescale for an AP is three months or longer. The timescale for a non-AP STA is the lifetime of its association, if it is or were to be established, with the recipient STA.
