[STDS-802-11-TGBE] FW: Discussion on CIDs of 1249, 1250, 1962, 3275

Hi all,

This is Myeongjin (MJ) Kim from Samsung.

A few weeks ago, I sent the mail below to get feedback to resolve CIDs of 1249, 1250, 1962, and 3275 which were deferred during the call.

But, I did not get any feedback..:)

If I do not receive any feedback by this weekend, I will request to have a presentation to resolve CIDs of 1249, 1250, 1962, and 3275 as below.

So, please let me know if you have comments or suggestions.

Thank you.

Best regards,

MJ

Title : Discussion on CIDs of 1249, 1250, 1962, 3275

Hi all,

This is Myeongjin (MJ) Kim from Samsung.

During the last PHY call, CIDs of 1249, 1250, 1962, 3275 in 11/21-0417r2 were deferred since there were different opinions on these comments.

Especially, there was a discussion on mandatory support for small size MRU and large size MRU in OFDMA transmissions. But, we didn't get the conclusion.

So, I would like to have offline discussion here to resolve the these CIDs.

The followings are initial resolutions based on the passed motions in SFD.

Resolution

1249

36.3.2.3.3

"It is mandatory for non-AP STA to support the transmission and reception"'. Should also clarify the mandatory requirement for AP

as in comment

Rejected.

Based on the passed motion (Motion 115, #SP72) in SFD, large size MRU combinations in OFDMA are mandatory for non-AP STA only.

1250

194.34

36.3.2.3.3

"unless the MRU size is larger than its supported bandwidth" should be changed "unless MRU is outside of the STA support BW" since a 484+242 MRU in seconday 80MHz has size less than an 80MHz STA's supportiing BW but can not be supported by this STA

as in comment

Rejected.

36.3.2.2 (Support of wide bandwidth OFDM operation) specifies that RU/MRU which are not fully within the STA’s operating location do not need to be supported.

1962

187.45

36.3.2.3.2

"It is mandatory for a non-AP STA to support the transmission and reception of 26+52 tone and 26+106 tone MRUs in OFDMA." What about AP? The support of small-size MRUs should be mandatory at the AP too.

Add the mandaory support of small size MRUs for AP. At least add the mandatory receive of small size MRU at the AP.

Rejected.

Base on the passed motion (Motion 115, #SP71) in SFD, small size MRU combinations in OFDMA are mandatory for non-AP STA only.

3275

194.33

36.3.2.3.3

In "2×996+484 tone MRU, 3×996-tone MRU, and 3×996+484 tone MRU in 80/160/320 MHz PPDU in OFDMA", it should be 320 MHz PPDU in OFDMA.

delete 80/160/ from the sentence.

Revised.

Agree with the commenter. But, for the better description, for an OFDMA EHT PPDU” is changed to “for an OFDMA 80/160/320 MHz EHT PPDU” in this sentence.

Instructions to the editor:

Please make the changes as shown in 11/21-0000r0

Instructions to the editor

Please make the changes to P194 L33 as shown below: (The baseline for this text is 11-21/0417r3.)

It is mandatory for a non-AP STA to support the transmission and reception of 484+242-tone MRU in each 80 MHz frequency subblock, 996+484-tone MRU in the primary 160 MHz channel and the secondary 160 MHz channel, 2×996+484-tone MRU, 3×996-tone MRU, and 3×996+484-tone MRU in 80/160/320 MHz channel for an OFDMA 80/160/320 MHz EHT PPDU unless the MRU size is larger than its supported bandwidth.

Please feel free to discuss in this email thread.

Thank you.

Best regards,

MJ
