Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] CID 6998

Alice, Thanks for your response and suggestion!

Alice and Shimi,

I am not sure if I agree with the changes:

  1. CID 6998 is about defining the bits setting in the Special User Info field of the Trigger Frame. Therefore, the name of those bits should follow the subfield name defined in Special User field of the Trigger Frame, not the subfield names in U-SIG -1 and U-SIG-2 in TB PPDU.
    1. Table 9-29j4 clearly shows how the receiving STA maps the bits in the Special User Info field to U-SIG1 and U-SIG2 fields.
  2. “the four LSB bits” is confusing. What do “four LSB bits” refer to?  BTW, do we need to add “bits” after “LSB”?

Thanks for your discussion!

Best,

Zinan

Hi Shimi, Zinan,

We'd better use the subfield names "Disregard In U-SIG-1 subfield" and "Disregard In U-SIG-2 subfield" since they are defined. In Shimi's original proposed text, it would be clear to simply change "all but the last bit" to e.g., "the four LSB bits".

Thanks,

Alice

Hi Shimi,

Thanks for presenting 11-21/1473r2 in the last PHY meeting. I think the current text (proposed solution for CID 6998) is unclear and may cause some confusion. Therefore, I would suggest to change the following text from

“An EHT AP that includes the Special User Info field in a Trigger frame shall set all bits of the Disregard In U-SIG-1 subfield (B25-B30 of the Special User Info field) and all but the last bit of the Disregard In U-SIG-2 subfield (B32-B35 of the Special User Info field) to 1, if dot11EHTBaseLineFeaturesImplementedOnly is equal to true. The last bit of the Disregard In U-SIG-2 subfield (B36 of the Special User Info field) is implementation-specific and should be set to 0 if dot11EHTBaseLineFeaturesImplementedOnly is equal to true.”

to

“In a transmitted Trigger frame including the Special User Info field, an EHT AP with dot11EHTBaseLineFeaturesImplementedOnly being true should set B36 of the Special User Info field to 0, and shall set each bit of B25-B30 and B32-B35 of the Special User Info field to 1.”

Please let me know if you have any comments.

Thanks,

Zinan
