Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] [EXTERNAL] [STDS-802-11-TGBE] Discussion on Doc 1510

John thanks for the feedback. I think the suggested text should work. On the second topic, that was added for the AP disablement use case in 1023. The idea is that non-AP MLD needs to be able to handle the case of AP disabling a link temporarily.

Pooya,
   Two comments:
  • In your proposed changes in clause 35.3.7.1.1, you describe the use of MU EDCA parameters but do not acknowledge that non-AP MLDs with EPCS priority access enabled may have a separate set of MU EDCA parameters.  To address this, I would propose the following change (in blue)
    • Otherwise, the non-AP STA shall use the latest MU-EDCA parameter set announced by the AP affiliated with the AP MLD that operates on the link and access the WM following the rules in 26.2.7 (EDCA operation using MU EDCA parameters) with the below modifications:
      • A STA affiliated with an EPCS non-AP STA with EPCS priority access in the enabled state shall use the MU EDCA parameters as described in 35.17.3.2 (EDCA operation using EPCS EDCA parameters).
      • A non-AP STA shall not use dot11EDCATable to update the CWmin[AC], CWmax[AC] and AIFSN[AC].
  • This is not directly related to your proposed changes, but I'm confused as to why a non-AP MLD must support TID-to-link mapping negotiation when associating with an AP MLD that does.  I can see where it benefits the AP MLD to have more associated devices that support negotiation, but the AP MLD will have to deal with legacy STAs that don't support negotiation.  Also, the AP could manage non-AP MLDs that don't support negotiation during the association process by selecting which links are accepted.
Thanks,
John
