Hi 11be fans, I think that there are still something that I didn’t explain clearly on the call. This document is to fix the issue that EMLSR mode can’t be used in case that one EMLSR STA indicates awake through PS-Poll/QoS Null frame then other EMLSR STAs can’t indicate awake because the
single radio is occupied by the awake STA. According to the standard, a non-AP MLD with EMLSR enabled has the behavior as cited. Let’s have a figure based on the scenario in the document. A single radio non-AP MLD with 2 affiliated STA 1 and STA 2 setups link 1 and 2 respectively
with an AP MLD. Both STAs support 2 Spatial Streams. The non-AP MLD supports EMLSR and has enabled EMLSR mode on link 1 and link 2. STA 1 and STA
2 are both in doze. As shown in the figure, the STA1 received a Beacon frame which indicates that there are buffered BUs in the AP MLD. So the STA1 sent a PS-Poll frame at T2. The non-AP MLD with the intension to have EMLSR mode, it switched the single radio to the STA2 to send a PS-Poll frame to indicate STA2 awake. Unfortunately, the AP2 sent an data frame while the radio was switched to the STA2. So the data frame is transmitted unsuccessfully. However, the above behavior of the non-AP MLD is not allowed by the standard. So how to indicate the AP MLD that both STA1 and STA2 are awake? This issue has to be solved to leverage EMLSR mode effectively. Would you please give your view?
