Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] [!]Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] [!][STDS-802-11-TGBE] Discussion on 22/1709r2 - ML Reconfig Add/Delete Link procedure

Hi Hirohiko,

Yeah, it is better to keep the feature simple first without added optimization, to get the basic functionality incorporated without added complexity.
If the group is open to add further optimization to the feature, I am open to consider it as well and it can be brought in the next round. First the group needs to agree on the basic add/delete link functionality.

Thanks.
Binita

Hi Binita,

Thank you very much for the feedback.
I understood the direction, but could you clarify more about the reason T2LM is not combined first?
Is it because that the complexity increases by combining T2LM?
And are you considering to combine T2LM in the future?

Regards,
Hirohiko

Hi Hirohiko,
Thank you for your feedback and suggestion.

The TID-to-link mapping can be negotiated after the add/delete link operation by using existing T2LM mechanism. For 1709 proposal, it would be better to first get the basic functionality of add/delete links considered in the group before combining T2LM functionality with it. So, I think for now it is better to keep the ML Reconfiguration Request/Response messaging as proposed in 1709r3, without combining T2LM with it.

All,
FYI, I have uploaded 22/1709r3 incorporating feedback received from the group during the TGbe session and offline afterwards.
https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/22/11-22-1709-03-00be-lb266-cr-for-ml-reconfiguration-add-delete-link-procedure.docx

Main updates in 22/1709r3 include:
-- Added EML Capabilities to Reconfiguration ML element.
-- Added a bit in MLD Capabilities and Operations subfield to indicate capability support for ML reconfiguration operations for adding link and deleting link. Added associated text and MIB attribute dot11EHTReconfigurationOperationActivated.

Please let me know if you have any further feedback.

Thanks,
Binita

Hi Binita,

Thank you for the contribution.

I have a comment regarding the resolution of CID #11658 and #10717.
Could you also consider updating TID-to-Link Mapping by optionally including TID-to-Link Mapping element in ML Reconfiguration Request/Response frame?
Association Request/Response frame can optionally include TID-to-Link Mapping element.
By introducing the same way in ML Reconfiguration Request/Response frame, it is possible to reduce the overhead of exchanging TID-to-Link Mapping Request and Response frame after link addition or link deletion.

Best regards,
Hirohiko Inohiza

Hi all,

I presented CR doc 22/1709r2 in TGbe MAC Ad-hoc yesterday.

https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/22/11-22-1709-02-00be-lb266-cr-for-ml-reconfiguration-add-delete-link-procedure.docx

Please provide your comments and feedback on 22/1709r2 in this thread.

I would like to run an SP on this proposal during this plenary session. Please let me know if you have any specific suggestions/text updates on the proposal.

Thanks,

Binita
