Hi Chaoming,

Thanks for your PDT/CR documents on NPCA topic. There are some comments and questions.

Most of editor notes are for TGbf editor in 25/0537r1 and 24/0538r1,they should be addressed by TGbn editor.

[cm] Good catch, thanks! I’ll update.

For  24/0538r1 :

Ø  The usage and definition of NPCA Transmission Threshold field and minimum NPCA transmission duration are not clear enough. Based on the text in this document, the value of minimum NPCA transmission duration = the value of NPCA Transmission Threshold field + the value of NPCA Switch Back Delay field + 392 and the unit is microsecond and the NPCA Transmission Threshold field does not indicate a minimum NPCA transmission duration directly .

Ø  So if you want to keep it (option #1), I suggest changing the name of this field to NPCA transmission Threshold offset field and changing the description for this field to The NPCA transmission Threshold offset field contains an unsigned integer that is added to 392us and the NPCA switch back delay of the NPCA AP to generate the value of the minimum NPCA transmission duration (parameter).

Ø  Or (option #2) we just keep this name and change it to indicate the minimum NPCA transmission duration directly. A note or normative text can be added in the Clause 37.11 to say that the value of NPCA Transmission Threshold field should be larger than or equal to 392 plus the NPCA switch back delay of the NPCA AP.

[cm] Well, I’m fine with either way. Let’s also hear opinions from other members.

Ø  When should/shall a NPCA STA switch back to the BSS primary channel when it detects a long PPDU or TXOP on the NPCA primary channel? T1 : The end of NPCA duration; T2 : the minimum NPCA transmission duration before T1 (the end of NPCA duration); or T3 : when it recognizes that the end time of this long PPDU is later than T2 (the minimum NPCA transmission duration before the end of NPCA duration)?

[cm] Not exactly. I wrote in clause 37.11 “when it intends to start or retry contending for the NPCA primary channel.

For   25/0537r1 and 24/0538r1 (option #2):

Ø  Personally, I think the setting for the values of the NPCA Minimum Duration Threshold field and the NPCA Transmission Threshold field should be implementation dependent because these parameters only affect performance in some scenarios. So I prefer to mention the recommended settings for them in Clause 37.11 as a Note ,but not in Clause 9 as a normative text.

[cm] It should be a normative behavior. A short time not only results in incomplete or failure of data transmission but also results in waste of transmission power.

Hi All,

Ive prepared two PDTs 25/0537r1 and 24/0538r1, which are addressing CIDs 1780 and 1783 under NPCA topic.

Could you please kindly review it and send me any feedback before April 17 ?

BR,

Chaoming
