Subject: Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBN] DBE PDT part 2
Hi Kalyankar,
Thanks for your comments.
Please see my responses inline below.
Hi Binita,
Thanks for sharing the revised DBE PDT part 2. I have reviewed the PDT and would like to share the following comments,
SKK.01) Page 7, Note 1,
Can you clarify on “even before DBE mode enabled by AP” is it after DBE mode effective time or before AP announce the DBE mode enable/disable/update?
<BG> This is referring to before AP starts announcing DBE mode enablement. Basically, STA are allowed to enable DBE with a DBE AP even when DBE is not enabled. Then AP knows which STAs can do DBE and at what BW. AP would use that information
to determine what DBE BW it should choose when enabling/updating DBE.
SKK.02) Page 7, DBE non-AP STA uses OMN procedure……
Does the DBE AP send any ACK with an agreement on the bandwidth (smaller bandwidth decided by AP)?
<BG> OMN/OMI procedures are defined in baseline. STA can use that to change its operating BW today.
OMN is an Action frame that is ACked. OMI is in the A-Control field in MAC header.
SKK.03) Page 7, Critical Update Announcement,
Can we include one more bullet in this section to state that the DBE AP doesn’t disable any subchannels in the BSS bandwidth which are not disabled in
BSS Bandwidth indicated in EHT Operation element.
-
Not disable any 20 MHz Subchannels on BSS bandwidth except those channels indicated in the EHT Operation element.
<BG> Thanks, I received another offline feedback on this. I am ok with adding that.
SKK.04) Page 8, Note
NOTE: If a DBE non-AP STA uses the OMN or OMI procedure to update its operating bandwidth to be smaller than its previously indicated bandwidth supported
for DBE, then the smaller bandwidth indicated via the OMN or OMI procedure becomes the current bandwidth for DBE for that non-AP STA.
I think the non-AP DBE STA can also indicate a wider DBE bandwidth via the OMN or OMI, which to restrict the indication only to smaller bandwidth?
<BG> The thinking here is that the BW indicated in the OMP request would be used for DBE and if STA indicates a lower BW, then that BW gets used. If STA indicates a wider BW using OMN/OMI than what it indicated in the OMP request, then
still the DBE BW from the OMP request applies. I am flexible on this part and discussing this with other members.

Shravan
Hi All,
I have uploaded an r1 for DBE PDT part 2, addressing comments received offline and during TGbn ad-hoc session.
Please review and let me know if any further feedback.
Hi All,
I have uploaded a DBE PDT part 2 for the TGbn Ad-hoc meeting next week, that addresses open items for DBE.
Could you please review and let me know if you have any comments/feedback.
