[STDS-802-11-TGBP] Comments on TX masks for active TX non-AP STA

Hello Nelson and thank you for the contribution 0784.

Since I won’t be able to attend the meeting today, I wanted to send my comments for this contribution offline.

  1. There is no point to define new TX masks since it is not possible to measure and certify any transmitter masks for both active and backscatter devices.
    1. The transmission power is expected to be low
    2. Since the devices are very simple, the measurement is expected to be done using radiated setup (not connected setup), which does not allow to measure below -30dBm/MHz.
  2. From our analysis, the existing WiFi masks should be sufficient once all imperfections are included.
  3. Requiring the addition of 4th order RF Butterworth filter is reasonable for AP but does not make any sense for STA - so if any new masks are to be defined (which as said we do not see any value for), they should be defined without any assumptions on additional HW filters.

Best Regards
Amichai
