Dear Edward, Could you please also add the following SPs to the MAC agenda? SP1 – Do you support to include the following text in 11bq SFD? - 11bq allows IMMW STAs to establish, during beam establishment negotiation and based on reciprocity capability, the number of Tx and/or Rx antennas to be used for beam training
Supported doc: 26/1303 SP2 – Do you support to include the following text in 11bq SFD? - 11bq allows multiple beam establishment modules (e.g. DL SLS module, UL SLS module and so on) to be performed within a single service period
Supported doc: 26/1303 SP3 – Do you support to include the following text in 11bq SFD? - 11bq defines or modifies a frame exchange in a sub-7 GHz link to allow IMMW STAs to establish a set of parameters for the upcoming beam establishment in a mmWave link to determine the role of the IMMW beamformer and the IMMW beamformee during the beam establishment negotiation on a sub-7GHz link
- In addition to information on the target start time, the number(s) of transmit sectors (M), the number(s) of receive sectors (N), and the direction (e.g. UL/DL), the parameter set includes the following:
- Whether the role is a IMMW beamformer or a IMMW beamformee
- Details are TBD
- An IMMW STA that initiates the beam establishment procedure by transmitting a beam establishment PPDU over a mmWave link negotiated via a sub-7 GHz link is referred to as a IMMW beamformer, while an IMMW STA that receives the PPDU(s) and participates in the procedure is referred to as a IMMW beamformee
Supported doc: 26/1303 SP4 – Define management frame for beam establishment negotiation over a sub-7 GHz link - 11bq defines new management frames or reuses/enhances existing management frames transmitted by a STA affiliated with an MLD and operating in the sub-7 GHz band to support beam establishment negotiation for an IMMW STA affiliated with the same MLD
- Whether to define new frames belonging to other frame types, such as control frame, or reuse/enhance existing frames belonging to such frame types via sub-7 GHz for beam establishment negotiation is TBD
Supported doc: 26/1304 Apologies for the inconvenience caused by these separate requests Best Regards, Hongwon From: hongwon.lee <hongwon.lee@xxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, September 7, 2026 4:56 PM To: 'STDS-802-11-TGBQ@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' <STDS-802-11-TGBQ@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: RE: [STDS-802-11-TGBQ] Call for contributions, straw polls, motions, and PDT texts / September 2026 interim Dear Edward, Could you help add the following contributions in the MAC agenda? - 26/1638 PDT IMMW beamforming Introduction Hongwon Lee (LG Electronics)
- 26/1639 MAX IMMW session idle period Hongwon Lee (LG Electronics), 2 SPs
- 26/1640 beam establishment early termination followup Hongwon Lee (LG Electronics), 1 SP
I think whether to run SPs depends on the discussion during my presentation Best Regards, Hongwon Dear 802.11bq participants,
For the upcoming September 2026 interim, we have the following 11 two-hour meeting slots with the following tentative arrangements (subject to final agenda requests):
Monday PM1 - Joint Tuesday AM1 - Joint Tuesday PM1 - parallel PHY and MAC meetings (chaired by Rui and Abhi, respectively) Wednesday AM1 - Joint Wednesday AM2 - Joint Wednesday PM2 - parallel PHY and MAC meetings (chaired by Rui and Abhi, respectively) Thursday AM2 - parallel PHY and MAC meeting (chaired by Rui and Abhi, respectively) Thursday PM2 - Joint
With this email, I am calling for contributions, straw polls, motions, and/or PDT texts you may want to present in the interim.
Thanks and Regards, Edward
