OK, so PN[0] = Least Significant Octet of PN. Suggest to do a table defining the crypto representation of every field (nonce, IV, …),
aligning with end-to-end test vectors. --

Hi TaoChun, I can give you an example of how this is done in the GCM nonce, and the same clarification is done for the IV in BIP and CIP, which aligns with the test vector. The exact proposed text is in
the document.

<TaoChun.Lee@xxxxxxxxxxxx> A bit difficult to read here, do you mean X[0] = Most Significant Octet of X, for X = IPN/BIPN or PN/CIPN, when constructing the TV IVs? --

Hi all, I presented document 11-26-1633-10 addressing CIDs 2340, 2341, and 2342, with proposed resolutions to clarify the initialization vector construction for GMAC when used with BIP and
CIP. https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/26/11-26-1633-10-000m-cr-for-control-frame-protection.docx The proposed clarification aligns with the test vectors in Annex J and the nonce construction used by GCMP. Specifically, it clarifies that the least significant octet (PN0) is the
last octet of the IPN/BIPN or PN/CIPN when constructing the initialization vector. Per the suggestion of the TGm leadership, I am sharing this proposal with the reflector for broader review. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Best, Po-Kai To unsubscribe from the STDS-802-11-TGM list, click the following link:
