[STDS-802-11] IEEE 802.11 Mandatory Technical Letter Ballot 298 for P802.11bp D1.0 opens today and closes 2026-11-30 at 23:59 ET

IEEE 802.11 Voters,

With this email, the 802.11 Working Group is officially beginning WG Technical Letter Ballot 298 (LB298), asking the question:
“Should WG11 forward P802.11bp D1.0 to Standards Association (SA) Ballot?”

The WG motion for this WGLB was approved in the WG11 September 2026 closing plenary meeting, see https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/26/11-26-1488-01-0000-september-2026-working-group-motions.pptx.

This Letter Ballot opens today and will close 46 days later on Monday, November 30, 2026, at 23:59 Eastern Time USA (11:59pm).
All necessary documents are available in the instructions on the IEEE 802.11 web site at https://www.ieee802.org/11/LetterBallots/bp/LB298/index.shtml.

Important:

  • This is a WG ballot, and the ballot group (i.e., those that may vote) for this ballot is all IEEE 802.11 voters as of the start of this letter ballot series.
  • Please see the list of voters in this ballot pool at https://www.ieee802.org/11/LetterBallots/bp/LB298/index.shtml?ballot-group=./voters.csv.
  • If you vote “Disapprove” on this ballot, it must be accompanied by comments for your vote to be valid.
  • Not voting on a WG ballot series or sending an invalid vote can affect your voting privileges.
  • The draft is password protected in accordance with IEEE 802 Policies and Procedures. To obtain the draft, use the members area username and the password supplied to active members.
