Hi Conrad,

On slide 6 of your presentation https://www.ieee802.org/3/dm/public/041725/Zerna_802.3dm_01_250414_EMCburstNoises.pdf you conclude that:

“Burst protection” by FEC length or FEC interleaving is a not a thing for shielded media and baud rates under consideration in dm; consequently, it should be dropped from the discussion

The question we did not have time to discuss was if you think the concluding statement on “burst protection” is only applicable for the two test that you identified, or if this is true in general, including real operating environments?
