[802.3_OMEGA] Ichiro Ogura: Si-photonics-MMF coupling -FYI: response to Richard Pinpinella's question

This is FYI about Si-photonics-MMF coupling as a response to a question from Richard Pinpinella in our presentation of "Thoughts on interoperable PMD".

His question was on the optical coupling of Si-photonics with MMF.

Since the Si-photonics transceivers used in data center operate with SMF, our Si-photonics with MMF has different design in grating coupler to fit the output beam profile with the mode field of MMF.

In the Q&A, Richard Pinpinella ask if we have publications on this coupling so I put the list of publications in the following.

I hope I can reach out to Richard is in this reflector, or someone please convey this to him.

If you need more information please feel free to ask in this reflector or mail me (i-ogura@xxxxxxxxxxxx).

I can send a part of our presentation slides relevant to these papers on your request.

Regards,

Ichiro
